Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability

On 5 April 2019 the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability was announced. Ability Centre does not accept any form of abuse, exploitation or discrimination as being acceptable and is committed to being open and transparent during the enquiry process cooperating fully with the Royal Commission.

We respect our customers’ right to raise any concerns with the Royal Commission.

On Tuesday 31 July 2019, the Royal Commission announced it was ready to accept formal submissions from individuals and institutions.

For further information on how to make a submission please visit the Royal Commission’s website – disability.royalcommission.gov.au. Support from family and friends in this process may be helpful. Alternatively, the Australian Government will be funding legal advisory services and advocacy support for people who would like assistance. Details on how to access these services will be posted on the Royal Commission’s website.
